In this Digital Fabrication course, we will help you familiarize with modern manufacturing techniques that will enable you to prototype your innovative ideas and plan for large scale production. You will learn how to develop two-dimensional (2D) computer aided designs into vector graphics, translating and visualizing them in 3D and using the files to fabricate physical products
Following a need-specific course, you will be guided to learn how to:
- Use a computer software, to create various different computer aided designs in two dimensions (2D)
- Use the 2D designs to fabricate and assemble parts that will form a 3D model.
- Learn how to create joints and other ways of fixing your model together to create your 3D object.
- Learn how to use a laser cutter safely and correctly to fabricate designs on different materials.
We are flexible to accommodate different learning speeds. The course is therefore delivered at your pace, over a minimum period of 5 days.
Each day is generally takes two hours, but if you want to stay longer or come in earlier, you are more than welcome to do so.
We maintain training group sizes of a maximum of 5 participants to make sure everyone gets enough one-on-one support from the tutor where necessary.
Anyone 16 years and over with a basic computer skill is able to register onto the course, enrolment sessions will be arranged to complete registration paperwork prior to the course beginning
